One way to do the Reverse Mortgage and to remedy this situation is to keep both of the spouses ON the deed but in different capacities that complement each other and provide guarantees and protection to both. This can be accomplished by putting the borrowing spouse on the deed in Life Estate or Life Tenant capacity. The non-borrowing spouse will also be on the deed in the capacity of Remainderman. They now both have an ownership interest and rights to the property.
