As a part of its corporate social responsibility, Bank Asia has provided higher
study scholarship to 22 insolvent meritorious students of Malkhanagar,
Sirajdikhan, Baligaon of Munshigonj district and Rohitpur of Keranigonj, Dhaka
district today (Saturday, 5th Jan, 2013). Mr. A Rouf Chowdhury, Chairman of the
Bank, handed over the scholarship money to the students at a function held a
Sirajdikhan upazila auditorium. Bank
Asia Board Audit Committee Chairman Mr. Rumee A Hossain, Director Mr. Shah
Md. Nurul Alam, Deputy Managing Director Mr. Aminul Islam and Senior Executive
Vice President Mr. Md. Arfan Ali and Sirajdikhan Upazila Chairman Mr. Md.
Mohiuddin Ahmed were present were present on the occasion. A large number of
people including students, teachers, journalists, businessmen and local elite
attended the function.
It may be mentioned that Bank Asia gives scholarships for
higher study to the meritorious students in the rural areas, where the Bank has
branches. A total of 153 (one hundred fifty three) students have been selected
for Bank Asia Higher Study
Scholarship in current year.
